Group Classes - NEW THIS FALL '16

THEATRE CLASSES *NEW* THIS FALL!!!!!

KinderPlay  – Come play on the stage with us as we tell funny stories and act out silly things. We'll use song and dance and storytelling to create an exciting performance on the last day. This class is great for kids to increase their social interaction skills and confidence building. Reading skills not required. Taught by Rosebud Children’s Theatre’s artistic director Holly Rose.

Age:5-8

Homeschool Theatre  – Designed for the home school student, this class will incorporate language, movement, social interaction, in addition to learning theatrical terms and phrases to create a performance for the last class day. Specifics days and times will be determined based on the home school groups' availability.  Taught by Rosebud Children’s Theatre’s artistic director Holly Rose.

Age: 5-8

Putting on a Show – A Day on Mount Olympus – Come join in on the fun! We will rehearse and put on the mini-musical A Day on Mount Olympus with a FREE performance on the last class day.  We will focus on character development, blocking, choreography, and more including theatrical terminology. This class is for all skill levels.  There’s a little something for everyone here.  Ability to read music is not required. Taught by Rosebud Children’s Theatre’s artistic director Holly Rose.

Age: 9-15

Acting for the Stage  - Do you love being on stage? Are you often described as a “character”? Then you’ll want to take this class to help develop your acting and public speaking skills.  All skill levels are welcome in this acting class. We will work on scenes and monologues to develop effective communication on stage (and in real life, too). There will be a FREE performance on the last class day. Taught by Rosebud Children’s Theatre’s artistic director Holly Rose.

Singing for the Stage – Do you love to sing? We do too! Come join us in this NEW class where you will learn musical theatre songs as a group with the opportunity to be a featured soloist in some numbers. We will also add choreography to make it a real musical theatre review. There will be a FREE performance on the last class day.  Ability to read music is not required. Taught by Rosebud Children’s Theatre’s artistic director Holly Rose.

Advanced Acting – Want to take your acting skills to the next level? This class is for those students who have been involved in plays and/or musicals and want to continue to develop their skills. We will focus on acting terminology including: intentions, beats, objective, super-objective, tactics, actions, moment-before, etc.  Prerequisite: Acting for the Stage, school/community plays, or permission by instructor. Taught by Rosebud Children’s Theatre’s artistic director Holly Rose.

Age: 15+

Solos for Performance and Audition – For the intermediate-advanced singer.  Focus will be on vocal production and song interpretation in solos which will be performed on the last class day. We will also look at the songs to determine a good audition cut.  There will be a FREE performance on the last class day. Prerequisite: Acting for the Stage, school/community plays, or permission by instructor. Taught by Rosebud Children’s Theatre’s artistic director Holly Rose.
