Creative (Beginning) Drama
Course Description: Using their imaginations and movement, students will create fun characters to use in their own original stories which will be presented on stage on the last class day.

Classes for ages 9-13:

Intermediate Drama
Course Description: Using imagination, young actors will create characters, develop their “stage voice” using vocal projection, increase their memorization skills, increase their self-confidence, and improve their public speaking skills. Each of these learned skills help prepare the young actors to audition for shows, perform in school productions, and beyond. Young actors will present a demonstration on the last class day.

Broadway Triple Threat
Course Description: Learn how to be a triple threat! You will act, sing, and dance to some of the best numbers Broadway has to offer. Learn singing techniques in vocal projection, diction, song interpretation, and staging techniques combined with dance to create fun performances to be presented in a demonstration on the last class day.

Classes for ages 14-19+:

Advanced Drama

Improvisation
Course Description:
Experience the power of play, and the fun of improvisational comedy in a fun and safe environment. You will learn the core fundamentals and principles of improv, focusing on various games and exercises that encourage trust, communication, agreement (“yes and”)’ active listening, character, status, and making your scene partner look good. We’ll apply these concepts into fully improvised scenes to present in a demonstration on the last class day.

Shakespeare Seminar
Course Description: A study of the Bard in performance. Using scansion, iambic pentameter, script analysis, and period references, we will delve into the work of Shakespeare and how to best perform his works. Actors will further their understanding of Shakespeare’s text and culminate the learning with a demonstration on the final class day. Course materials fee: $10 due to instructor for course materials

Broadway Tap

Course Description: Tap dance is fabulous for fun and fitness! You will learn tap terminology (flap, step-ball-change, draw-backs, and more) and steps to put together with some of the best Broadway numbers to create a routine for a final demonstration on the last class day. This class is perfect for the beginning to intermediate tapper.
